Seville was once been Spain's biggest city. It has been the gateway through which the vast wealth of the New World poured. It served as the host of two World Exhibitions.
The city certainly is one of the most beloved places by visitors to Spain. Even though today influence from the Moors is most obviously architecturally - Andalusia has been occupied by the Moors for more or less 800 years. Its fertile land, and the climate of winters which are mild and 3000 hours on average of sun per year encouraged the Phoenicians and Carthaginians to settle here. In fact, later the Romans came and two of their very famous emperors, Trajan and Hadrian, were born here.
The city has been home to a range of famous and infamous figures of the past. The famous legend of "Don Juan" originated here, conquering hearts of women all across, whereas Columbus departed from a port close by to discover a new world.
SHOPPING
Shops usually open at 10 in the morning and close at around 8:30 at night, from Monday to Saturday. Shops usually close in the afternoon from about 2:00 pm until 4:30 pm.
The best of shopping can be found at the square between Plazas Nueva, Magdalena, Encarnacion and San Francisco, with Calle Sierpes in the center of it all. Touristy things can be found at the Barrio Santa Cruz; for small shops, check out Barrio San Vincente and the Alameda. If you´re interested in ceramics, Triana is where the beautiful ceramic tiles can be found, which decorate many Seville hotels, bars, churches and private houses.
HANDICRAFTS (artesanía)

You haven’t seen Seville without a walk over to the Triana, which in fact is an old gypsy quarter and also the centre of tile-making. Craftsmen are at work in their studios in C/Alfareros (20 and 22). Also see Ceramica Santa Ana (San Jorge 31), which has beautiful tiled façades, which is a testament to local workmanship. Inside, you’ll find a host of goods of ceramic and pottery, ranging from jugs to statues and huge pots to tiny bowls. There are lots of things to see, so you should take your time to walk around and see it all.
Parks
Seville is filled with orange trees. Around springtime, orange blossom smells fills the air. The gardens of Seville are an oasis of tranquility thanks to its Arabic heritage. The most picturesque gardens are the Alcazar’s gardens, which have been laid out in Arabic style.
María Luisa Park:

This is one of Seville´s largest parks. It has  a surface area bigger  than 400,000 meters. It was originally meant to be a Romantic garden of San Telmo´s palace, for the occasion of the 1929 Latin American Exhibitions by a Frenchman called Forestier.
Murillo Park:

This one is also quite interesting to check out, it borders the walls of “el Alcázar” and leads to the Santa Cruz neighborhood. These are both quite Sevillian in style and full of ceramic work, abundant flowers, arcades and foliage,
You should also definitely visit the gardens of the Valle, which adjoins part of the historic city wall.
